How Quickly Can You Remove the Water?

The speed of commercial water removal in Merrimack businesses, a café for example, depends on the amount of water present, the size of the facility, and how long it rested inside the building. Once they have this information, SERVPRO technicians can work as quickly, and safely, as possible to remove water and moisture from the business.

Where in the Business Do You Start?

Our technicians begin where the water is at its deepest. Since there are drains in the kitchen and other food prep sections, water from a spill often pools in the area for customer seating. To remove it, team members bring in pumps for high water and extractor wands for amounts just covering the surface.

If there is a carpet present, technicians use a heating element built into the extractor wands to carefully begin drying it while damaging the surface or softening the glue holding it in place. The heating element is also very useful for drying wood flooring to prevent splintering or cracking of the individual floorboards.

Next, our technicians remove water from the kitchen and serving areas. They use long-handled squeegees to pull it out from underneath appliances, racks, and counters. For remaining trace amounts and to dry the underside of the property, team members install air movers to generate a warm flow of air that quickly forces moisture off surfaces and into the air.

Is That All That Is Needed?

Not yet. SERVPRO technicians finish the task with a moisture meter to check the humidity level in the air. If the level is above normal, they use dehumidifiers to draw moisture out of the air for disposal into the nearest drain. Our goal is to quickly restore the functionality of your establishment.
